Material Handler - Forklift Driver - 2nd Shift

About the role
Wesanco, a member of the Ideal Tridon Group, is seeking dependable and safety-focused Material Handlers / Forklift Drivers for our 2nd and 3rd shifts at our Smyrna, Tennessee facility. This position requires operating both a sit-down/counterbalance forklift and, after successful completion of company training, a multi-directional forklift used to safely load flatbed trailers. Candidates must be willing to learn and become certified on a multi-directional forklift.
Schedule
- 2nd shift: 2:00pm - 10:30pm, Monday - Friday
- Must be open to working Saturdays (same scheduled time as above) and overtime as necessary
Pay
$20.00 per hour; 2nd shift includes a $1.00 shift differential.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport materials between warehouse locations, assembly stations, and in-process storage areas using a sit-down/counterbalance forklift.
- Successfully complete company-provided training and safely operate a multi-directional forklift to load flatbed trailers according to company procedures and customer requirements.
- Load flatbed trailers accurately while following customer specifications and driver loading requirements.
- Verify product numbers, quantities, and condition before loading, unloading, or restocking inventory.
- Process inventory transactions using RF scanners and warehouse management software.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through careful product verification and organization.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company quality, safety, and environmental procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of sit-down forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Counterbalance forklift experience is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to train and become certified on a multi-directional forklift is mandatory.
- Experience loading flatbed trailers is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work well in a team environment.
