Material Handler - First Shift
U.S. Lumber, an SBP brand, is looking for a 1st shift Material Handler to join our values-based organization.
About the role
In this position, you will perform a variety of key responsibilities in operations, including material receiving, product movement, product shipping, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Banding and packaging materials and supplies before shipping to customers.
- Receiving, auditing, inspecting, identifying, and putting away incoming material to proper locations.
- Maintaining housekeeping and organization in the warehouse and other material storage areas.
- Keeping accurate inventories by updating the computer system when physically moving materials.
- Ensuring products and materials meet quality expectations.
- Notifying supervisors of improvement opportunities.
- Supporting area needs by removing empty pallets, trash, and recyclable materials.
- Cleaning parts and pieces using sandpaper, acetone on a cloth rag, or an air hose to remove dust from hard-to-reach areas, ensuring they are ready for painting.
- Staging completed and stretch-wrapped products into shipping lanes by load.
- Loading trucks with finished door products as directed by the Manager.
- Adhering to forklift, operational, quality, and safety guidelines.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- One to two years of related experience.
- Experience using computers and handheld scanning guns.
- OSHA Forklift certification.
- Previous experience in material handling responsibilities within a production environment.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM EST.
