Material Handler - First Shift

Amerhart, an SBP Brand, is seeking 1st shift Material Handlers to join our team in Kansas City, MO. This role involves shipping, receiving, and stocking warehouse material as part of our Operations team. We value collaboration, respect, and safety in all warehouse duties.

Responsibilities

• Unload common carrier trucks and railroad cars; replenish product in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick orders using a forklift until the order is completely filled.
• Report problems such as shortages or damaged material.
• Consult with sales team when orders cannot be shipped as ordered and make changes as directed.
• Use handheld scanner for receiving product, picking orders, loading trucks, and cycle counting in accordance with Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Collaborate with WMS Coordinator on questions and updates.
• Band, wrap, and prepare material for safe shipping.
• Arrange orders on trucks according to safe weight distribution practices.
• Follow safety procedures and policies when performing warehouse duties.
• Fill orders for incoming customers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning warehouses/yard.
• Inspect forklifts prior to daily operation to comply with OSHA regulations.
• Cross-train and back up others in the warehouse.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 1-2 years of warehouse experience required; experience in a distributorship preferred.
• Neat and clean appearance.
• Proven ability to work as a member of a team.

Skills

• Strong initiative and self-starter with a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a cross-functional team environment.
• Working knowledge of techniques for organizing and setting priorities.

Pay

$22.00/hour.

Schedule

1st Shift: 7:30 AM CST until work is finished for the day.
