About the role

The Material Driver, under general supervision, distributes either production or non-production items and materials to various locations throughout the plant. Materials may consist of purchased parts, in-process parts, or finished goods. This position performs a variety of tasks as assigned in conjunction with the needs of the Materials and production or other departments. Tasks vary by work area, and work assignments change based on business demands. Routine job rotations are required to support Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives. The position is expected to perform specified job duties within the allotted time, within quality standards, and using prescribed methods.

Responsibilities

• Moves goods and material within a production environment using a Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV).
• Loads, unloads, or moves goods and material from one location to another with a forklift or other PIV.
• Works on a PIV and operates warehouse computer software with moderate expertise.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (GED) required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous warehouse experience is a plus.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• 6 months to 1 year of forklift experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Safety and vehicle training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of internal company and external associates, both written and orally, including by telephone.
• Mobility within the work facility.
• Ability to stand for 8+ hours.
• Ability to bend, lift, reach, and turn throughout the shift.

Pay

Hourly base pay: $20.00
