About the Role
The applicant will have a brief interview. If the interview goes well, we will forward their information to "The Job Center" for a 350-hour work period. Afterward, the applicant will be hired by Architectural Concepts as a full-time employee.
This role involves retrieving and supplying all materials required by the Door shop production staff for daily work, maintaining stock inventory levels, and assisting in the assembly of interior doors and related products while adhering to safety policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform all job operations in a safe manner in accordance with company safety policies.
- Read pick tickets of door components needed for the daily production schedule.
- Pull and set up all doors for production.
- Pull jambs and hardware for orders.
- Coordinate necessary materials for production using work tickets and trade skills.
- Inspect finished products for quality using product knowledge and work tickets.
- Assist in shop housekeeping (e.g., sweeping, storing, and cleaning).
- Maintain the interior door shop vacuum system.
- Operate a forklift safely (if certified).
- Maintain work areas to 5S standards (Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety).
- Contribute to continuous improvement by making and implementing suggestions to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
- Ability to use measuring devices (e.g., tape measure) and transfer measurements to production pieces within 1/16".
- Ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions and handle problems involving concrete variables.
- Must be able to work overtime and some Saturdays to meet production demands.
- Prior experience in finish carpentry or assembly of finished wood products.
- Knowledge of general safety guidelines in carpentry or construction.
- Product knowledge of doors and door trim.
- Experience working in a team environment.
