Material Handler Back Storeroom (1st Shift)

The Material Handler Back Storeroom position is located at Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division in Sumter, SC. Hours are Monday - Friday, 5am - 1:30pm. The hourly rate is $17.50 per hour.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

• Utilize computer and perform cycle counts of components.
• Analyze cycle count information to determine root cause and corrective action.
• Resolve all errors by research and auditing of transactions.
• Operate forklifts and cranes to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas.
• Receive, document, store stage and issue all job-related material to satisfy production requirements.
• Support assembly and fabrication requirements for materials as needed.
• Pack, create, and band equipment, parts, materials, products, and accessories to minimize damage during shipment or staging.
• Apply labels, stickers, stencils as required for identification and ease of storage or shipping.
• Comply with all safety and industrial hygiene requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
• Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance when required to ensure peak performance of all manufacturing equipment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Forklift and/or crane operation experience.
• Broad range of knowledge in materials planning, scheduling, receiving, shipping, and tracking systems.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Reside within the immediate area of Sumter (50 miles).
• Legal authorization to work in the US on a permanent basis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer literate.
• Working knowledge of Lean concepts.
• Knowledge of processes and procedures related to steel and bus fabrication, purchasing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.
• Computer skills to include Excel, Word, DMM, AS400, Mapics, Vista, & Outlook.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Regularly stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel.
• Frequent exposure to noise and dust.
• Regularly lift/carry up to 35 pounds, push/pull up to or greater than 35 pounds.
• Regularly walk, stoop, push/pull, and grip.
• Regularly use vision with far and close vision, depth perception, and color discrimination.
• Frequent listening and talking.
• Work in a noisy and dusty environment.
