Material Handler - 3rd Shift, Pennsylvania Steel Company, Bensalem, PA

About the role

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Material Handler for our Bensalem, PA location. This position reports to the Branch Warehouse Manager and involves handling various types of metals to fulfill work orders and packaging according to customer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical tasks related to work order fulfillment, including order pulling, material handling, and packaging.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace while adhering to all safety and quality guidelines outlined in the PA Steel Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.
• Follow quality measures and packaging instructions as specified by customer requirements or PA Steel supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software.
• Working knowledge of decimals and fractions.
• Proficiency in measuring using tape measures and micrometers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely around machinery, overhead cranes, and moving equipment.
• Capability to work a full shift on your feet with minimal stationary time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access forklifts and truck beds.
• Capable of medium to heavy manual work, frequently handling over 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Tolerance for temperature extremes in an open warehouse environment.
