Material Handler - 3rd Shift
About the Role
Judd Wire Inc., a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is seeking a 3rd Shift Material Handler for our Turners Falls, MA facility. This position involves a variety of duties related to measuring, inspecting, testing, and re-spooling wire and cable in preparation for shipping or its next operation.
Responsibilities
- Work from material movement documents, written and verbal instructions, and computer scanning devices to record and complete forms.
- Transfer wire from one location to another manually or via forklift, following movement documents or instructions.
- Ensure proper transfer of product and maintain reels and pallets as needed.
- Weigh and record scrap as required.
- Detect and report defective materials, malfunctioning equipment, or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 1-3 months of transferrable experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player.
- Enjoy detailed work and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of ordinary arithmetic, including decimals, fractions, and simple use of specifications and adjustable measuring instruments.
- Moderate physical effort required, including frequently moving average weights and continuous mental and visual attention to repetitive work.
- Ability to work in conditions that may expose you to noise, fumes, or dust.
PIV Training and certification will be completed after hire.
Pay
Hiring range: $19.81–$23.44/hour, plus a $3.00/hour 3rd shift differential.
