Material Handler (3rd Shift)

About the role

Starting minimum rate of $19.06 per hour (including shift differential).

Schedule

• Sunday - Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
• Occasional overtime may be required, including weekends
• $3/hr shift premium

Responsibilities

• Feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the assigned area
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
• Load materials into trucks and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools
• Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks, electric dollies, or other devices
• Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or mark information on cases, bales, or other containers
• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and band bundles together using a banding machine and clincher
• Occasionally use automated equipment and/or operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of general warehouse layout, item identification codes, and warehouse procedures
• Familiarity with storage areas to place or pull paper stock, signatures, and materials in accordance with standard procedures
• Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items following operating instructions or guidance from higher-level employees
• Basic knowledge of shrink-wrap equipment
• Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials
• Basic skill in using shrink-wrap or strapping equipment, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks, and hand tools (e.g., hammers, pliers, strapping, stretch wrapping tools, tape fasteners, metal band shears)

Pay

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $16.06 - $21.43 per hour. The actual rate of pay may vary based on education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. Total compensation may also include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
