Material Handler 3

About the role

The Material Handler III is responsible for the safe, accurate loading and unloading of product within the distribution center. They use ERP systems to manage location and storage of items, proper packaging, and methods of material movement. They also prepare goods for final shipment and prepare, coordinate, and execute documentation for domestic and international shipments.

Responsibilities

• Pallet/Case Picking: Process customer orders, scan bar codes, pick and label boxes, pack and process orders through RF technology, maintain work area, verify accuracy, and package shipments.
• Pallet Build: Palletize orders, retrieve and place completed orders on pallets, re-palletize products, run shrink wrappers, transport pallets using MHE, verify accuracy, and package shipments.
• Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement: Use ERP systems for item location and storage, prepare goods for shipment, prepare and execute documentation for domestic and international shipments, load/unload pallets safely, report damage/maintenance issues, maintain equipment certification.
• Safety and Security: Perform job activities safely, assist in warehouse security, report incidents, maintain a safe environment, and follow safety instructions.
• Quality: Understand organizational quality goals, maintain sanitation and housekeeping standards, and receive hazmat training.
• Cross-training: Become knowledgeable with other warehouse positions, assist as needed, and act as backup during absences or vacations.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MHE, including order pickers, reach trucks, counterbalance (slip and clamp), and dock stocker.
• Forklift certification required.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• May be required to operate MHE and use voice/RF scanner.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General distribution knowledge.
