About the role

The Material Handler 3 position at Intuitive is an advanced role requiring significant experience in warehousing operations, exceptional technical skills, and in-depth knowledge of inventory management systems and Microsoft applications. The role involves becoming an SME in all warehouse processes and taking on special projects to improve productivity and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Shipping: Verifies, checks, validates outgoing material to ensure labels, packing slips, BOL's, and serial numbers are correct and processed according to work instructions.
  • Kitting: Utilizes the Production work orders process to assemble kits.
  • Receiving: Receives materials, both physically and systemically, for production operations and engineering projects.
  • Parts Put-away: Moves approved production materials from Quality staging areas into warehouse storage locations.
  • Warehouse Point-of-use parts replenishment: Restocks designated production lines.
  • Maintain, report, and drive POs for cross-divisional and other locations replenishment process.
  • Parts Replenishment: Restocks designated production lines, adhering to FIFO when putting away, picking, and replenishing material.
  • MT: Fulfills and transacts MT requests received either electronically or via hard copy.
  • Sales Order Fulfillment: Fulfills and transacts Sales Orders.
  • STO: Processes approved Stock Transfer Orders.
  • Pack Out: Packs finished assemblies and materials from other departments for shipping.
  • Inventory Control: Understands the full flow of material within stockroom locations, participates in Cycle Count, Physical Inventories, and reconciliation activities, conducts material audits and parts verification, evaluates bin capacity and consolidations to increase storage capacity, maintains various SOX compliance audit records, and suggests improvements to warehouse efficiency.
  • Comply with General Good Warehouse Practices (GWP) and Warehouse housekeeping processes.
  • Assist in data collection in combination with the warehousing team for Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Previous working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kanban processes is a plus.
  • Maintain warehouse safety in accordance with 5S principles.
  • Communicate verbally and via email the status of material movements and transactions to appropriate internal customers.
  • Able to locate and count parts accurately (using cycle-count documents), and complete required documentation.
  • Able to effectively apply knowledge of material flow and warehousing principles to Material Handling assignments (FIFO, consolidation, lean principles).
  • Ability to lift material up to 35 lbs, load & unload trucks as needed via pallet jacks, wrap, weigh & prepare shipments on skids/pallets, extensive walking, standing in one place for a long period of time, and repetitive physical motion (squatting, bending, lifting, and climbing ladders).
  • Inspect equipment prior to use and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment or safety hazards.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 2 to 4 years of related experience at Intuitive, or relevant external experience of 4 to 6 years.
  • Ability to adhere to attendance, safety, quality, and performance guidelines.
  • Experience with computer systems (MS Office, Agile, Smartsheet, SAP) is preferred.
  • Inventory control experience (cycle counting, physical inventories).
  • Experience in training/mentoring other material handlers.
  • Able to accurately perform both physical material movements and system transactions for inventory accuracy.

Education and Training

  • Possess a high school degree/ GED /Secondary Education or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Kanban systems and other lean material handling principles.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed. Base Salary Range Region 1:$28 - $38 Base Salary Range Region 2: $24 - $33 Shift: Day Workplace Type: Onsite - This job is fully onsite.
