About the role

Responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of materials to production presses to support uninterrupted operations. Maintains accurate inventory through proper inventory control practices, including FIFO (First In, First Out) material consumption. Ensures inventory accuracy, promotes a safe and organized work environment, and upholds housekeeping standards to support operational efficiency and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage inventories of clean and dirty components.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure FIFO inventory consumption.
  • Clean colorant containers and barrels.
  • Conduct weekly cycle counts of raw materials.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain an adequate supply of color injectors.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in material handling and storage areas.
  • Monitor raw material expiration dates and use materials accordingly.
  • Perform daily inspections of color pots and other components.
  • Stage material at or near a press prior to it running empty for rapid material change.
  • Stage materials for production per verbal instructions or job traveler description.
  • Mix material in pressure pots when needed.
  • Clean and fill colorant containers, verify lot numbers and label containers.
  • Maintain adequate supply of color injectors by cleaning, repairing and testing as needed.
  • Maintain the material mixing area and color supply area in a clean orderly fashion.
  • Keep a weekly log of colors that are available for use in color pots.
  • Communicate with other shifts to ensure readiness for material changes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to operate and maintain machinery
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and protocols
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Basic computer skills for machine control software
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Pay

$19.35 - $25.09/hour
