Material Handler 1st Shift - Kalamazoo

About the role

The Material Handler is responsible for sorting and taking apart various electronics, while focusing on efficiency, to ensure a consistent flow of product is generated to meet daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Use electric and hand tools to take apart various electronics.
• Remove focus materials from various electronics and place them in designated containers.
• Maintain pace to meet daily production goals.
• Understand and follow written and verbal work instructions and safety standards, including all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
• Secure cargo for transport using appropriate methods.
• Weigh in material and place it in its designated area.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any safety issues immediately.
• Maintain company equipment inside and out to ensure both cleanliness and safety.
• Properly handle and process batteries when needed.
• Remain aware of details that cause specific boards to meet certain criteria for grading when sorting circuit boards.
• Interact in person with coworkers and the public.
• Handle high-stress situations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems and tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety protocols.
