Material Handler - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Execute safety standards and achieve daily productivity goals.
• Achieve quality requirements.
• Perform routine and assist with non-routine maintenance.
• Maintain and safely operate assigned tools and equipment.
• Apply proper bundling techniques.
• Configure load based on planned routes.
• Maintain load capacity without compromising safety.
• Move steel to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, and delivery vehicles using various equipment.
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 25 feet and heights up to 5 feet.
• Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and communicate.
• Stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
• Adjust focus to maintain awareness of ongoing work activities and equipment.
• Attend all required company meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to correctly read work orders or receive oral instructions.
• Ability to safely meet or exceed minimum productivity levels.
• Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities independently.
• Good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques.
• Ability to maintain ongoing inter-departmental communications.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Strong customer relations skills.
