About the role

A Material Handler performs functions associated with shipping, receiving, and distribution of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods. Specific activities include receiving and inspecting incoming materials, transporting materials to warehouse storage, stockroom, production areas, or other designated locations, and picking, packing, and transporting goods to staging areas for shipment. This position may also track and unload incoming material and verify goods against purchase orders or bills of lading. Material Handlers may operate fork trucks or other material handling power equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift (required).
  • Operate pushcarts to pick parts from shelving locations and deliver materials to production areas.
  • Pack parcels and move completed packages to the appropriate skid.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP systems such as SRP to support daily operations.
  • Read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, and other work-related documentation.
  • Apply mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Interpret bar graphs and use common sense to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
  • Resolve issues involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
  • Demonstrate a strong quality mindset when receiving, evaluating, handling, and delivering materials.
  • Prioritize customer needs for timely delivery.
  • Observe and document work standards.
  • Identify process improvements through lean principles, creative problem-solving, and innovative thinking.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift experience is required.

Schedule

1st Shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.
