Responsibilities

• Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift
• Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, by use of equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift
• Check in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing for processing by lot numbers
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
• Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation
• Record documents to appropriate forms and/or logbooks
• Verify that proper identification is attached
• Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location by part number
• Perform forklift duties and learn to cube basic loads
• Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.
• Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
• Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
• Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
• Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control
• Ensure and comply with all procedures established to ensure product is being properly controlled
• Communicate all problems and concerns regarding shipment scanning to Team Leader
• Identify damaged items staged in outbound bays
• Inspect outbound products for quality assurance
• Accurately document results of outbound audits upon completion
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Possess or could become forklift certified
• Driver’s License or equivalent

• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
• Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack
