Responsibilities
- Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift
- Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, by use of equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift
- Check in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing for processing by lot numbers
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped
- Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation
- Record documents to appropriate forms and/or logbooks
- Verify that proper identification is attached
- Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location by part number
- Perform forklift duties and learn to cube basic loads
- Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, storing equipment, etc.
- Perform required before-, during-, and after-operation “user maintenance” and provide required reports
- Maintain and protect all property entrusted to you in excellent condition
- Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
- Scan outbound shipments to ensure accuracy and quality control
- Ensure and comply with all procedures established to ensure product is being properly controlled
- Communicate all problems and concerns regarding shipment scanning to Team Leader
- Identify damaged items staged in outbound bays
- Inspect outbound products for quality assurance
- Accurately document results of outbound audits upon completion
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Possess or could become forklift certified
- Driver’s License or equivalent
Skills
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate forklift, hand truck, and pallet jack
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
