Material Handler 1

Ryder is hiring a full-time Material Handler in Smyrna, Tennessee.

Pay

$20/hour, paid weekly.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

About the role

Warehouse fulfillment roles at Ryder support distribution across the US. Products handled include printers and copiers. Equipment used includes sit-down forklifts.

On-the-job paid training and safety gear are provided. Ryder emphasizes safety, state-of-the-art equipment, and supportive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Operate within performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Accurately pick, pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load/unload trucks.
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more of related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid forklift operator’s license or certification.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse environment.
• Highly thorough, dependable, and punctual with a strong attendance record.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
• High level of accuracy, even under pressure.
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods and follow health and safety methods.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed.
• Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
