Material Handler 1 - 6pm-6am on a rotating shift schedule weekends included

Location: Columbus, Nebraska | Duration: 12 Months | Pay rate: $22.70 (includes shift differential)

About the Role

This position operates on a rotating shift schedule from 6pm to 6am, including weekends. A high school diploma or GED is required. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Pallet/Case Picking:
  • Process customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking, and labeling boxes.
  • Pick and pack orders using RF technology.
  • Maintain an acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions.
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP.
  • Complete RF device training to obtain necessary profiles.
  • Perform accuracy verification and shipment packaging.
• Pallet Build:
  • Palletize orders by scanning, retrieving, and placing completed orders on pallets.
  • Re-palletize products for shipment.
  • Perform dock manifest duties, including scanning completed pallets and running the shrink wrapper.
  • Transport pallets using motorized equipment (e.g., Walkie Ryder).
  • Perform accuracy verification and shipment packaging.
• Additional Duties:
  • Follow all safety instructions to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain current status in C2C training modules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Quality:
  • Understand and align with organizational quality goals.
• Safety and Security:
  • Perform job activities safely and report any injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain warehouse security and report suspicious activity.
• Sanitation and Housekeeping:
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area at all times.
  • Follow facility cleanliness guidelines.
• Cross-Training:
  • Learn responsibilities of other warehouse positions to assist as needed.
  • Act as backup during absences or vacations.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or 1 year of relevant experience.
• Experience with Walkie Ryder (motorized pallet jack) preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Ability to work well with others and under minimal supervision.
• May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
• Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General distribution knowledge.
• Must be able to perform essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, reach, push/pull, grasp, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent use of hands for finger, handle, feel, pick, or type, including repetitive motion of wrists, hands, or fingers.
• Occasionally required to climb.
• Exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment.

Schedule

Rotating shift: 6pm–6am, including weekends.

Pay

$22.70 per hour (includes shift differential).
