This position is based in Sumter, South Carolina and follows a 3-2-2-3 schedule including weekends (3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off). The role involves material handling duties including pallet/case picking, order processing, and pallet building in a distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Pallet/Case picking: processing customer orders including scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes, pick and pack orders, processing orders through RF technology
  • Maintain acceptable work area as outlined in SOP and work instructions
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in SOP
  • Complete all necessary RF device training to obtain the necessary profiles
  • Responsible for accuracy verification and shipment packaging
  • Pallet building: palletizing including scanning, retrieving and placing completed orders on pallets; re-palletizing products for shipment
  • May be responsible for dock manifest duties which includes scanning completed pallets and running the shrink wrapper
  • May be required to transport pallets by walking MHE
  • Follow all safety instructions to maintain safe working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injuries and illnesses
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to attendance policies
  • Maintain current status in C2C training modules
  • Understand organizational quality goals
  • Perform job activities in a safe and reasonable manner and in accordance with safety requirements
  • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and promote a safe environment
  • Report all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards or conditions immediately
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity
  • Maintain a clean and professional image; follow guidelines for facility cleanliness
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area at all times
  • Become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of other warehouse positions; assist as required and act as back up during absences or vacations

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Minimum of 6 months of previous experience driving a forklift (stand up forklift experience preferred)
  • Eye exam required
  • 10 Panel Drug Screen required - must complete within 48 hours of acceptance of job offer
  • Candidates can start while background checks are pending, once drug screening and criminal background checks have cleared
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted

Qualifications

  • Experience with Walkie Ryder (motorized Pallet Jack) preferred
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects
  • Ability to work in a fast paced distribution environment
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner
  • Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment
  • Basic analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
  • General distribution knowledge

Physical Demands

  • Regularly exposed to episodes of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, balancing, crouching, reaching, pushing/pulling, grasping, twisting, lifting
  • Frequent use of hand to finger, handle, feel, pick or type including repetitive motion of the wrists, hands or fingers
