Responsibilities
- Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Attend safety meetings and participate in safety programs.
- Control traffic patterns in yard and direct customers to proper locations.
- Inspect materials for non-acceptable items and hazardous materials.
- Communicate deduction information to customers and teammates.
- Maintain good customer relations by acting courteously, safely, and professionally.
- Ensure non-acceptable materials are not left on TMR property.
- Remove and store any items not allowed that were left undetected.
- Use small and large equipment like a loader to push up tin piles.
- Understand and adhere to environmental policies to maintain a clean work environment.
- Willing to cross-train and assist other employees as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by your manager.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of previous general labor experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably in scrap metal or construction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and occasionally lift/carry/push/pull 10-25 lbs.
- Standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day.
- Exposure to extreme heat and weather conditions.
- Adaptability to frequent changes in priorities and completing tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
- Dependability and consistency in meeting attendance schedules.
- Flexibility to work overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial environment, including outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Experience with Skid Loader/Skid Steer/Forklift/Loader preferred.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
- Preference given to candidates within 50 miles of the location.
