Material Flow Supervisor (3rd shift)

About the role
This role is responsible for leading daily material delivery across air-cooled chiller (AC) assembly lines within the value stream. The supervisor owns safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance on shift, driving execution through frontline leadership, standard work, and disciplined problem-solving. The role develops team capability, enforces standards, and ensures material delivery commitments are met in a high-mix, variable manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Own a zero-incident culture; ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with EHS standards and reinforce safe behaviors through coaching and accountability.
- Conduct daily 5S & safety walks, identify hazards, and drive immediate countermeasures.
- Lead Material Execution team (MET) across the value stream to ensure timely delivery of materials to the production lines.
- Lead daily meetings with 3rd Party warehouse providers to ensure timely delivery of parts to the production lines.
- Ensure all materials are stored correctly in the swim lanes and POU.
- Ensure effective shift handoffs and clear communication of priorities.
- Enforce adherence to standard work and quality processes.
- Ensure all carts are in good working condition and effectively remove broken carts for repair.
- Perform timely approval of employee timecards and follow all HR policies.
- Lead root cause problem solving (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) to eliminate recurring issues.
- Support layered process audits and drive accountability for findings.
- Sustain and improve 5S standards across all areas of responsibility.
- Directly lead and develop a team of hourly operators and team leaders.
- Set clear expectations, provide daily feedback, and conduct performance management.
- Build team capability through training, cross-training, and skills development.
- Ensure material availability and escalate shortages impacting production; build an effective relationship with 3rd party warehousing partners.
- Lead daily tier meetings and ensure issues are tracked, prioritized, and closed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain OR Associate’s Degree with 4+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain.
- 2+ years of experience in people leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Logistics (preferred).
- Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching, and process execution.
- Experience or knowledge in technical or operational practices.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical mindset with experience in process improvement.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- English written and verbal command.
- Knowledge of MRP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), SharePoint and Power BI dashboards, and MS Office.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 and $129,500.00. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
