Responsibilities
- Monitor and track open purchase orders and material deliveries to ensure alignment with production schedules and program milestones.
- Proactively identify material shortages, late deliveries, or supply chain risks and drive timely resolution.
- Expedite critical materials by coordinating directly with suppliers, freight carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to understand technical requirements, revisions, and bill of material (BOM) changes.
- Maintain accurate status updates within ERP/MRP systems to ensure real-time visibility of material flow.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), prototype builds, and production ramp-ups through focused material coordination.
- Work closely with manufacturing and warehouse teams to prioritize incoming materials and manage physical inventory flow.
- Ensure compliance with DoD procurement regulations and company policies, including ITAR and DFARS requirements, where applicable.
- Generate and analyze material status reports to support leadership decision-making.
- Aid in resolving discrepancies related to receiving, documentation, or supplier performance.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in materials expediting, supply chain, logistics, or production planning.
- Strong understanding of supply chain workflows and manufacturing operations.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of technical drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) is preferred.
- Experience in defense, aerospace, maritime, robotics, or other high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with DoD procurement and compliance standards (ITAR, DFARS, etc.).
- Forklift certification or experience managing physical inventory.
- Experience supporting prototype builds or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environments.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing and walking within the office.
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports.
- Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies.
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages).
