About the Role

The goal of the material coordinator is to eliminate downtime for production and assist in identifying and solving material issues. The priority is to ensure production has the material required to produce chassis in a timely manner. When material needs arise, the material coordinator retrieves or calls for the material and works with the production team to identify why there is a material need, following outlined processes and taking necessary action to resolve.

Responsibilities

• Investigate any/all material issues at plant level
• Deliver all parts calls to the line
• Enter all parts calls into LCI Audit app and report all material BOM & print issues to the appropriate lead(s)
• Support production with parts needed until production releases
• Participate in all Warehouse functions and observe all safety requirements
• Dedicate efforts to production and fulfill all material needs
• Communicate all material shortages to the consumption and inventory teams
• Complete Part call sheets daily
• Arrange delivery of part shortages
• Work in partnership with manufacturing managers, Line team leads, line leads, line team members, and QC to address BOM and print inaccuracies
• Report BOM and print inaccuracies to the consumption team
• Report inaccuracies from the part boxes to the consumption team
• Identify and arrange for the return of extra parts to the material pad
• Work in partnership with the consumption team for scheduling changes to ensure part boxes are ready for production in a timely manner
• Inspect all incoming part boxes to ensure integrity of work and address any issues prior to production
• Use daily production schedule to monitor production rate to ensure part boxes are ready for changeovers
• Track scrapped parts to ensure they are removed from inventory
• Work in partnership with production utility for front/back of line housekeeping
• Monitor and arrange for the return of all material dunnage to material pad
• Meet Division metric requirements
• Participate in morning meeting/safety huddle

Qualifications

• High school degree or GED (not necessary)
• Forklift license (training is offered)

Preferred Experience

• At least 1 year of D365 experience
• At least 1 year of inventory control experience

Physical Demands

While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing throughout the day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The work environment includes moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyor roller lines. The employee will work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut-resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear, which will be provided. Steel-toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards are required but not provided.

Schedule

This is a full-time hourly position. Hours and days are based on the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory.
