About the Role

We connect the network with integrated supply chain solutions to safeguard production, ensuring parts supply at the right time, right place, quantity, and quality for continuous production. The focus of our department is Material Control, Transportation Control, and Delivery Assurance. As the gatekeepers of the supply chain for the ultimate driving machine, the qualified intern will contribute to and improve key functions within our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor missing parts in relation to past due and internal process errors.
  • Process mapping and documentation of International Logistics (ILS) processes.
  • Daily reporting of shipping accuracy.
  • Collaborate with air and sea freight carriers to improve reporting and KPIs.
  • Cooperate with the launch team to ensure shared processes are mapped and improvements are documented.
  • Conduct material flow analysis and parameter setting, including ideal delivery-profile and rounding values for overseas plants.
  • Support process description and review of service-level agreements.
  • Analyze and visualize recurring issues of missed shipments.
  • Monitor issues related to short shipments and parts in backlog.
  • Communicate with BMW Consolidated Services to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at the time of application.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
  • Preferred degrees: Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours per week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from their current university.
  • Must attach a copy of an unofficial transcript.
  • Must complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and technical skills (experience using Power BI, SQL, Data Lake, etc. is a bonus).
  • Independent and detail-oriented work ethic.
  • Highly organized with effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
