About the role

Match Advisors support the adult learners and volunteers in English In Action’s Individual Tutoring Program. Their responsibilities include facilitating effective and meaningful experiences for program participants, welcoming adult learners, assessing their English language level and goals, providing training and ongoing support of volunteer tutors, facilitating initial meetings between learners and tutors, planning activities and trainings for participants, and troubleshooting any challenges a tutoring pair may have.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome adult learners to the programs
  • Assess English language level and goals of adult learners
  • Provide training and ongoing support to volunteer tutors
  • Facilitate initial meetings between learners and tutors
  • Plan activities and trainings for participants
  • Help troubleshoot challenges for tutoring pairs

Requirements

A college or associates degree preferred, ideally in a related field; an advanced degree is a plus. Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish and English is required, with other languages being a plus. Computer knowledge including email, Word, Excel, and CRM/Salesforce is required, with additional skills being a plus.
