Mat Assembly - Production Associate

About the role

As a Production Associate in Mat Assembly, you will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment supporting the creation and distribution of diploma frames. This role relies on teamwork, flexibility, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. Attention to detail and a willingness to assist across various functions are crucial for success.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders to determine specifications and follow production workflow to produce high volumes of work.
• Operate finishing equipment, including cutters and bindery (glue) guns.
• Meet or exceed daily production goals while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure all work aligns with job tickets and customer quality expectations.
• Maintain a defined maximum scrap rate on items produced.
• Partner with Production Lead(s) for timely processing and perform other duties as assigned.
• Assemble up to 300 mats per day with little supervision (first 60 days) and progress to 350–500 mats per day of varying difficulty (first 90 days).
• Become familiar with the product library, scheduling, and coding system.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment, recording quality or scrap issues and reporting safety concerns.
• Restock supplies and assist the team as needed based on business demand.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic math skills and computer literacy.
• Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Strong attendance and punctuality record.
• Ability to read a ruler proficiently.

Physical Demands

• Daily activities include lifting, carrying, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, and twisting.
• Regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs.
• Climb stairs.
• Work in a moderate to above-moderate noise environment.

Pay

Starting pay: $18.00 per hour.
