Duties/Responsibilities
- Assess patients and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Create a treatment plan for patients based on the needs of the individual.
- Refer patients to other healthcare professionals as needed, including Bowen Health’s primary care and psychiatric services.
- Work with family members and other authorized contacts, as needed, as part of treatment for the patient.
- Work with any patients in crisis situations, evaluate risk and initiate appropriate response to promote patient safety.
- Complete CSSRS or other crisis tools and link to or provide necessary services that may include, but are not limited to, IPH admission, crisis planning, referral.
- Complete mental health and substance use evaluations for Hospital-discharged patients, high-risk patients, critical care patients, and patients referred from psychiatric inpatient facilities outside Bowen Health, and other patients as needed and link them to necessary services.
- Attend all required clinical supervision sessions and staff meetings.
- Provide counseling services using evidenced based practices, within CSO-approved clinical scope of practice, and complete required documentation of services rendered.
- PRACTICE MEASUREMENT-BASED CARE BY THE ROUTINE USE OF APPROVED PATIENT OUTCOME MEASURES.
- Provide referrals to services to support an integrative care model of treatment. Referrals include but not limited to community resources, medical providers and transportation services.
- ADVOCATE FOR AND PRACTICE IN A WELCOMING, INCLUSIVE AND NON-DISCRIMINATORY MANNER.
- PRACTICE IN FULL ALIGNMENT WITH BOWEN HEALTH POLICY AND PROFESSIONAL TRADE ASSOCIATION ETHICS CODES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO MAINTAINING STRONG, APPROPRIATE PROVIDER-PATIENT BOUNDARIES AND AVOIDING DUAL RELATIONSHIPS.
- Maintain credentials with all applicable managed care contracts by completing the necessary documentation and returning change to submit it on a timely basis.
Qualifications
- Education: MSW, MS, MA, PhD, or PsyD in a relevant field.
- Experience: Master’s Degree or higher with at least two-thousand (2,000) post-degree professional hours. Prefer two (2) years of in crisis work. Prefer previous experience in family dynamics, growth and development, childhood disorders, syndromes and pathologies, and age-appropriate treatment techniques.
- Certificate or Professional License: Active temporary license and/or associate license in the state of Indiana and actively working towards LCAC, LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or HSPP licensure. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment. BLS (Basic Life Support) and First Aid - certification must be obtained after hire and prior to providing direct patient care. This certification must be maintained and kept current through employment.
- Physical Requirements: Occupational Exposure Risk Classification: The normal work routine involves minimal exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues. The normal work routine has a minimal ergonomic risk for repetitive motion impairment. The position may require a minimal amount of physical exertion (bending, lifting, twisting) in the work area.
