Master Scheduling Manager

Our Appleton, WI facility manufactures state-of-the-art circuit boards for aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical industries.
About the role
Develop, manage, and optimize the master production schedule to ensure customer demand is met while maximizing manufacturing efficiency, inventory performance, and on-time delivery. This position serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Program Management, Production, Materials, Procurement, Engineering, and Customers to balance demand, capacity, material availability, and production priorities.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to support customer demand and company objectives.
- Balance customer requirements, production capacity, material availability, and inventory levels to optimize manufacturing performance.
- Collaborate with Sales, Program Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to establish realistic production schedules.
- Analyze demand forecasts and customer orders to identify scheduling risks and capacity constraints.
- Lead Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and scheduling review meetings.
- Coordinate new product introductions (NPI) into production while minimizing disruption to existing manufacturing schedules.
- Partner with Materials Management to ensure timely material availability and minimize shortages.
- Monitor and improve key planning metrics including on-time delivery (OTD), schedule adherence, manufacturing throughput, inventory turns, work-in-progress, and past due work orders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling, planning processes, and ERP system utilization.
- Maintain accurate planning parameters within the ERP/MRP system.
- Support customer escalations by developing recovery schedules and communicating realistic commitments.
- Prepare and present production and scheduling performance reports to senior leadership.
- Lead and develop production planners and scheduling personnel.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 7–10 years of production planning or master scheduling experience.
- Minimum of 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) or PCB assembly manufacturing required.
- Experience in high-mix/low-volume manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting OEM customers in a contract manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
