Responsibilities
- Check construction and support equipment in and out of inventory.
- Loading and unloading rental fleet.
- Moving and organizing equipment throughout the yard.
- Performing advanced level repair and maintenance on rental fleet.
- Diagnoses, Maintenance, and Repair: Identifies and repairs operational and safety issues on construction and support equipment.
- Operates, repairs, and services multiple types of Caterpillar rental equipment and allied brands.
- Performs all repairs, annual inspections, and preventative maintenance services on MEWP and rental fleet equipment.
- Engages in advanced troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic components and systems.
- Fleet and Yard Maintenance: Checks equipment in and out of inventory.
- Schedules major repairs with the service department and monitors progress.
- Loads, unloads, and secures rental fleet according to load securement standards.
- Operates and maintains company service truck, as needed.
- Delivers equipment with appropriate trailer size/capacity as needed, according to WSECO’s driving policy.
- Washes, details, and maintains rental fleet while optimizing yard organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned while developing a mindset for technician productivity.
Qualifications
- Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Associates degree in diesel technology or trade school diploma preferred.
- Minimum of four years industry experience required (i.e. Rental fleet, Mobile, and Allied equipment).
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Card and CDL, preferred.
- Appropriate technician level tooling required.
- Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write in English).
- Physical Characteristics: Ability to stand for long periods of time along with walking, sitting, repetitive climbing stairs, reaching (including but not limited to above-shoulder reaching), repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures and environment.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs. in accordance with Western States’ Lifting Policy to include amount and approach.
