Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of data center electrical systems, including switchgear, UPS, PDUs, generators, ATS/STS, and grounding systems.
- Perform and supervise preventive and predictive maintenance to maintain uptime and meet SLA requirements.
- Diagnose and trouble shoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using advanced testing equipment to locate cause of breakdown and correct the problem.
- Lead electrical troubleshooting during incidents and support root‑cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and all internal safety protocols.
- Review electrical designs, one‑line diagrams, and contractor work for accuracy and code compliance.
- Assist with IR scanning and report generation.
- Cook up with facilities, networking, and mechanical teams during expansions, retrofits, and commissioning.
- Maintain documentation, logs, and maintenance records for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Respond to emergency calls and provide timely and effective solutions to minimize down time.
- Train and mentor junior electricians and technicians.
- Formulate MOPs, SOPs and Change Management Records.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or equivalent vocational school training.
- A current Master Electrician License (state-specific).
- 7+ years of electrical experience; 3+ years in data centers or mission‑critical environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and high‑voltage distribution.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and one‑line diagrams and blueprints.
- Experience with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance planning.
- Ability to work on‑call rotations and respond to emergencies.
- Ability to lift 50# and the ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Tier III data center environments.
- Familiarity with BMS/EPMS systems.
- Certifications such as NFPA 70E, OSHA 30.
- Previous experience in large-scale commercial property or critical environment setting.
