About the role
Technical expert on in-service aircraft performing repairs and installations that require a high degree of accuracy and timeliness. Function independently in a team-oriented work environment and in a leadership role when required.

Responsibilities
- Work with and locate design information
- Review design and engineering documents, making corrections as needed
- Review and gather information for burns
- Assist in problem solving and troubleshooting, collaborating with engineering and other department leads
- Develop and administer employee skills development programs, including shop standard training guidelines
- Support 6S and Lean activities, including performing quarterly 6S audits
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation, including CMP cards, travelers, R&I logs, and archived information
- Comply with all safety, 6S, and housekeeping policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Perform technical functions such as correct methods of in-service installations, repairs/mods, and refurbishments
- Troubleshoot problem areas on in-service aircraft to determine causes and pursue preventative actions
- Assist in problem solving to establish or correct planning methods for in-service aircraft refurbishments and installations
- Interact with Engineering, Product Support Engineering, and Quality Control to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions
- Organize, develop, and administer the Employee Skills Development Program
- Identify and develop training requirements for tooling, test equipment, and other areas
- Plan, schedule, and complete tasks to meet service/delivery schedules
- Assist management with supervision and instruction of technicians in proper procedures and techniques
- Assist with performance appraisals of subordinates, assessing strengths and weaknesses
- Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, vendor information, and procedures
- Assist in maintaining work schedules and updating CMP cards
- Review work, forms, and records to ensure compliance with Gulfstream Repair Station procedures and FAA Airworthiness Standards
- Review daily job charging for accuracy
- Support Lean activities
- Perform repairs on installations requiring a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
- Assist in training subordinates in proper techniques, processes, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of upholstery experience in production/manufacturing/service center
- High School Diploma or GED required
- FAA A&P license or ability to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of start date
- Proficient knowledge of manufacturing and/or repair station procedures, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements
- Established track record of troubleshooting manufacturing or installation processes
- Proficient knowledge of all applicable machinery and processes necessary to perform the job
- Basic computer knowledge and skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
