About the role
Performs master craftsman and lead work associated with installation, inspection, and maintenance of plumbing systems, equipment, materials and fixtures.
Responsibilities
- Performs experienced or master craftsman level work associated with plumbing systems, materials, equipment, and fixtures.
- Responds to assigned work orders relating to electrical systems; troubleshoots appropriate corrective measures and performs work to provide a solution.
- Replaces faulty or defective plumbing equipment and systems.
- Prepares and maintains records, work logs, and reports, as needed.
- Maintains compliance and adherence to all safety procedures, occupational health practices, and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Five years of experience directly related to plumbing systems installation and repair.
- Within twelve months of employment, complete safety training according to OSHA standards;
- Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of NC requirements.
Qualifications
- Associates degree or technical school training in plumbing systems;
- Hold a valid Class 1 Plumbing License determined by the North Carolina Board of Plumbing Examiners.
Skills
- Considerable knowledge of plumbing systems, equipment, and fixtures;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel;
- Google Apps;
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards;
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and complete tasks in the absence of clear direction;
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations;
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff, contractors, vendors, and external agencies.

Schedule
Monday-Friday (Evening and weekend requirements on a rotational basis)
