About the Role
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Spa Services, the Massage Therapist provides relaxation, wellness, and restoration to guests through Best in Class Spa services, including massages, body treatments, and overall general wellness care. Maintains operational excellence, product and service knowledge, and superior safety and sanitization best practices. Ensures a clean and safe environment for patrons, team members, and vendors while safeguarding enterprise assets and guaranteeing departmental integrity.
Responsibilities
- Greets Spa guests and ensures their comfort during service and wait times, providing Best in Class massages and/or body treatments using various techniques.
- Upholds enterprise, industry, and department policies and procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring professionalism and compliance.
- Monitors and adheres to time schedules throughout the shift.
- Prepares treatment rooms and tools prior to appointment start times.
- Ensures treatment rooms and areas are clean and sanitized using approved procedures.
- Restocks treatment products in treatment areas regularly.
- Removes soiled laundry and resets with clean laundry using required safety and sanitizing practices.
- Communicates professionally with guests to identify medical issues, allergies, or concerns while discussing wellness goals prior to services.
- Exhibits genuine concern for guest comfort and safety at all times.
- Ensures confidentiality of personal and sensitive guest information.
- Assists with opening and closing duties for Spa Services, maintaining cleanliness, health, and safety of all facilities, treatment areas, and product dispensaries.
- Collaborates with department upper management in the ongoing development and positioning of Spa treatment and service offerings.
- Remains current on industry standards and techniques.
- Assists with maintaining a strong loyalty wellness membership program.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of Massage Therapist experience.
- Professional Massage Therapy license in California required.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Skills
- Ability to communicate verbally across all levels of the enterprise.
- Good presentation skills.
- Excellent writing skills and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and compliance software.
Physical Requirements
- Primary work environment is climate-controlled, but may require travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.
- May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
- Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently; may move up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with constant operation of computers and office productivity machinery.
- Physical activities include balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Hearing sufficient to understand conversational levels in person, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Speech sufficient to be heard and understood in person, in groups, in meetings, via videoconference, and over the telephone.
- Visual acuity required for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, viewing computer terminals, reading, and inspecting employees, visitors, or facilities.
- Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and operate a motor vehicle for travel to events or properties.
- Endurance to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift and during extended hours.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including secondhand smoke.
