Position Summary
The Massage Therapist is responsible for treating clients through soft tissue manipulation while maintaining a safe and relaxing experience. The therapist will be dedicated to helping clients improve their overall well-being through therapeutic touch, relaxation techniques, and customized massage treatments.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform professional massage therapy sessions based on client needs and preferences
- Assess clients’ physical conditions and medical histories to tailor treatments
- Recommend individualized massage plans, stretches, or wellness practices
- Maintain detailed and confidential client records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms, linens, tools, and common spa areas in compliance with sanitation and safety standards.
- Adhere to all licensing and state regulations for massage therapy
- Educate clients on the benefits of massage and self-care techniques
- Collaborate with spa staff to ensure seamless guest service and assist with daily spa operations.
- Uphold the resort’s standards of luxury service and guest confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times
Experience and Education
- Minimum of two years of experience in a spa or resort setting preferred
- Proficiency in various massage techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue, prenatal, sports, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion
- Passion for wellness and holistic care
- Valid massage therapy license or certification (as required by state law)
