About the role

21c Museum Hotels combines a multi-venue contemporary art museum, boutique hotel, and a chef-driven restaurant to create a unique and welcoming opportunity. This is a non-exempt position which is also eligible for tips and commissions.

Responsibilities

• Get to know all guests who enter the Spa and offer the highest level of personalized service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic, helpful, and professional attitude with all guests and team members
• Provide consistent massage and body treatments as directed in training classes and accepted certification practices
• Properly care for equipment and product used throughout the spa facility
• Understand the importance of punctuality for spa appointments
• Communicate and describe in an articulate manner the spa offerings and their benefits
• Discuss treatments with guests, comparing and contrasting the different services on the menu; recommend and upsell services that fit the guests' needs
• Provide information and knowledge to promote skin care programs that will benefit the guests
• Possess complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products offered
• Handle guest questions and concerns with professionalism and courtesy; respond to guest requests immediately, accurately, and appropriately
• Understand the importance of and commit to continuing education
• Uphold the standards of sanitation, sterilization, restocking rooms, and the product area
• Maintain an understanding of the spa industry and spa philosophy (balance, relaxation, unity, and a healthy lifestyle)
• Maintain a healthy, fit appearance and a positive attitude as a representative of the Spa
• Maintain a clean, safe, stocked, and well-organized work area
• Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness
• Assist in all areas of the spa operation as directed by management
• Assist with special projects as requested
• Participate in scheduled meetings as requested
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management
• Maintain regular attendance
• Work varying schedules, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the facility
• Receive the various services offered on the spa menu and be a model for the training of new teammates when requested
• Comply with rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facility
• Maintain a friendly, pleasant, and professional demeanor and appearance at all times
• Demonstrate a passion and desire for excellence

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
• Comfortable performing treatments in-room
• Understand and follow Bloodborne Pathogens procedures
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Able to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Demonstrated attention to detail
• Cooperative and friendly attitude
• Able to be efficient in a fast-paced environment
• Able to perform basic math
• Must pass a background check

Education

Passed the required courses and hours necessary to obtain a license in the field.
