About the role
LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Masalit-English Phone Interpreter to work remotely from your home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
- Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Masalit and English speakers.
- Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
- Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
- Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
- Provide cultural sensitivity and handle sensitive topics with professionalism.
Requirements
- Fluency in Masalit and English with cultural competency.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
- Ability to concentrate and remain neutral during interpreting sessions.
- Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
- Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse for long periods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write English and Masalit.
Skills
- Strong language skills in Masalit and English.
- Cultural sensitivity and awareness.
- Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive topics.
- Technical proficiency with company-provided software and systems.

Pay
$1.25 - $1.40 per minute.
Schedule
This is a remote position where the Interpreter works from his/her home-office. It is essential to ensure a quiet & secure environment.
