MarTech Technology Strategist
About the Role
As a Principal MarTech Strategy & Real-Time Expert, you will serve as the critical bridge between marketing business strategy, hands-on technical execution, and next-generation personalization. In this role, you will be both a technology strategist and a hands-on practitioner. You are comfortable evaluating technology platforms, scaling our MarTech stack, and setting a future-proof vision for AI-driven, agentic 1:1 personalization, while simultaneously rolling up your sleeves to build real-time customer journeys, configure profile schemas, and troubleshoot data flows.
Responsibilities
- Tech Stack Strategy & Agentic Personalization Vision
- Stack Evolution & Evaluation: Continually evaluate emerging MarTech tools, platforms, and architectures to build a scalable engine capable of supporting next-gen, agentic 1:1 personalization.
- AI & Decisioning Integration: Collaborate with Data Science and Engineering teams to integrate AI/ML models into the real-time marketing loop, connecting audience triggers with smart decisioning logic across channels.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Translate business strategies into a future-proof MarTech engineering roadmap that balances rapid delivery with long-term platform scalability.
- Hands-On Real-Time Marketing & Journey Engineering
- Build & Deploy Journeys: Lead the hands-on technical design, build, and enablement of real-time marketing (RTM) use cases, customer journeys, and behavioral triggers using Adobe Experience Platform (AEP / RTCDP / AJO) or similar real-time marketing engines.
- Profile & Data Orchestration: Define and maintain schemas, identity namespaces, and profile merge policies to ensure real-time profile orchestration is clean, scalable, and actionable.
- Operational & Platform Health: Actively monitor dataflow health, ingestion patterns, and technical latency, proactively resolving bottlenecks before they impact real-time customer experiences.
- Cross-Functional Execution & Pod Leadership
- Lead Delivery Squads: Lead technical execution pods through iterative Agile delivery cycles, establishing technical standards and maintaining a high standard of execution excellence.
- Translate Strategy to Execution: Serve as the technical liaison between business strategists, IT, and security teams—translating complex strategic ambitions into clear technical requirements and backlog items.
- Strategic Storytelling & Analytics
- Executive Narratives: Own the creation of clear, visual technical narratives and executive-level decks that explain the "how" and "why" behind MarTech architectural decisions.
- Measurement Frameworks: Define and track key performance indicators across both technical metrics (data latency, system uptime, schema accuracy) and business outcomes (conversion lift, audience activation efficiency).
- Governance & Standards: Establish best practices for data governance, sandboxing, and platform lifecycle management in partnership with dedicated compliance teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant experience.
- Six or more years of MarTech Architecture and Evaluation Experience, including evaluating technology platforms, analyzing technical debt, and designing scalable architectures to support real-time marketing and AI/ML model integration.
- Experience creating a strategy for how modern AI, machine learning, and agentic automation fit into the future of omni-channel customer experiences.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience building customer journeys, configuring schemas, managing identity resolution, and activating real-time profiles in Adobe (AEP, RTCDP, AJO) or modern real-time marketing tools.
- Experience translating dense, complex technical architecture into clean, visually engaging presentations for leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience guiding technical pods or cross-functional delivery teams through high-velocity Agile delivery cycles.
- Six or more years of hands-on engineering experience with AEP/RTCDP with everyday work with XDM schemas, Identity Service, Profile Service, and Destination connectors.
