About the role
Join Invited, the largest owner and operator of private clubs nationwide, with 130+ country clubs, city clubs, and athletic clubs offering first-class amenities such as championship golf courses, modern workspaces, handcrafted cuisine, resort-style pools, state-of-the-art racquet facilities, and fitness centers. As a Marshall, you will provide exceptional professionalism and customer service to members and guests on the course, enforcing club rules with a balance of courtesy and authority while ensuring a smooth pace of play and a positive experience for all players.
Responsibilities
- Assist members and guests by offering advice on golf course etiquette, helping with lost balls, and providing rides upon request.
- Inform members and guests about club offerings, features, events, and golf shop specials.
- Maintain a visible presence on the course as scheduled, coordinating with starters or other golf operations staff to report incidents or issues.
- Enforce club rules related to the golf course to ensure a smooth experience for all players, addressing rule violations professionally and courteously.
- Maintain the course by repairing ball marks, filling divots with topsoil, picking up loose items, and straightening cart guidance ropes and supports.
- Collaborate with other golf operations staff, such as outside services, range attendants, and cart attendants, to ensure efficient service.
- Complete daily duties in assigned areas to club standards, aligning with Star Service FOCUS expectations (e.g., keeping the course free of trash, restocking supplies, maintaining tidy signage).
- Follow all company, club, and department policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Maintain professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.
- Adhere to safe working practices, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and encouraging others to do the same.
- Take initiative in personal and professional growth, maintaining any required certifications relevant to the role.
- Address and resolve challenges using available resources, working with regional and corporate teams to support club operations.
- Attend daily briefings and actively engage in required activities to stay informed and contribute to the team's success.
- Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management due to the dynamic nature of the club.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a similar role or extensive knowledge of golf.
- Ability to walk long distances and carry heavy bags (up to 75 lbs.) for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with members, guests, and staff.
- Excellent knowledge of golf etiquette, rules, and best practices.
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing outstanding service.
- High attention to detail and reliability.
Physical Requirements
- Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
- Physical tasks include sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, and lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.
