MARS Shop Assistant

Position Summary

The shop assistant will help MARS staff in maintaining the MARS shop area. This will include organization of tools, clean up, creation of maintenance and operation manuals, and other miscellaneous tasks as arise.

Required Qualifications

• Must be over 16 years of age to be considered.
• Over 18 years old may be expected to run machine shop tools such as bandsaw, drill press, milling machine, lathe, and water jet among others.

• Physical Activity: Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or consistently to move objects, including the human body. Sitting most of the time. Walking and standing only occasionally if ever.
• Visual Acuity Requirements: Not required
• Conditions: None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work).
