About the Role

Assist in managing the day-to-day operation of the Housekeeping Department and ensure efficient operations in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager, adhering to Aimbridge Hospitality standards. Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as necessary to complete their job responsibilities, with overtime applicable for OEM associates.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field; or a 2-year college degree and 2+ years of related experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient in Windows Operating Systems.
  • Able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Capable of evaluating and selecting among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Works well in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity.
  • Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information from disparate sources and adjust to meet constraints.
  • Strong listening skills to understand, clarify, and resolve concerns raised by coworkers and guests.
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information, data, and basic arithmetic functions.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag.
  • Comply with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Comply with certification requirements (e.g., Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR & First Aid).
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining a key control system for the department.
  • Ensure proper use of radio etiquette within the housekeeping department.
  • Schedule routine inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to ensure cleanliness and good repair.
  • Assist in controlling expenses and minimizing waste in all areas of housekeeping.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental budget and financial plans.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and review all pertinent information for the day’s activities.
  • Assist with daily room inspections (additional Supervisor only scheduled if occupancy exceeds 90 rooms or with General Manager approval).
  • Review Housekeeping staff’s worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to accounting on time.
  • Prepare employee schedules according to business forecasts, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements; submit weekly for review.
  • Supervise daily inspections for arriving V.I.P.s.
  • Ensure lobbies, guest hallways, guest rooms, and back-of-house areas are cleaned to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and support Housekeeping staff during unanticipated rush periods.
  • Maintain required pars of all Housekeeping and Laundry supplies by ordering needed items monthly/quarterly.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly Housekeeping inventories on time.
  • Ensure guest privacy and security by following Aimbridge Hospitality procedures.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
  • Ensure implementation of all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and house rules.
  • Assist with training and review of "House Safety" rules and procedures with Housekeeping staff.
  • Monitor work orders and submit to the Engineering department; follow up to ensure completion.
  • Respond to guest requests, situations, complaints, and accidents in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • Attend monthly all-employee team meetings and other required functions.
  • Maintain professional working relationships and promote open communication with managers, employees, and other departments.
  • Respond to emergency situations using M.S.D. sheets; keep them current and easily accessible.
  • Monitor "Lost and Found" procedures and policies according to standards.
  • Assist with training all Housekeeping personnel according to Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and colleagues.
  • Use the telephone and computer system for reporting and verifying room status.
  • Properly store, secure, and issue supplies to meet business demands.
  • Complete all reports in a timely and efficient manner as required by management.
  • Review the Guest Request log daily to address problems proactively.
  • Ensure completion of regular maintenance and cleaning projects biannually.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the General Manager.
  • Access to back-of-house areas and sensitive information.
  • Interact and occasionally have unsupervised contact with guests and/or colleagues.
  • Access and control sensitive areas, including Master Keys, guestrooms, storage/liquor rooms, and secured file cabinets.
  • Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons.
  • Maintain a high level of trust, responsibility, and sound judgment while representing the company.
