About the role
The Food and Beverage Host plays a crucial role in setting the tone for a welcoming and seamless dining experience at Marlin Bars across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and help seat them promptly
- Build and manage an organized waitlist
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host area and menus
- Possess knowledge of all food and beverage menus
- Monitor and stock restroom supplies, maintaining cleanliness
- Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries
- Assist with takeout orders
- Support other areas of the restaurant as directed by management
Requirements
- 1 year of related experience in a full-service restaurant
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
- Familiarity with Open Table reservation system preferred
- Professional phone skills
- Organization skills
- Excellent guest service skills
- Basics of food and beverage service/hospitality
Qualifications
- Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
- Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently
- Climbing ladders – occasionally
- Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
- Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
