Marlin Bar Host/Hostess

About the role

The Food and Beverage Host plays a crucial role in setting the tone for a welcoming and seamless dining experience at Marlin Bars across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and help seat them promptly
• Build and manage an organized waitlist
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host area and menus
• Possess knowledge of all food and beverage menus
• Monitor and stock restroom supplies, maintaining cleanliness
• Answer phone calls and respond to guest inquiries
• Assist with takeout orders
• Support other areas of the restaurant as directed by management

Requirements

• 1 year of related experience in a full-service restaurant
• High School diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Current food handler’s card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local law
• Familiarity with Open Table reservation system preferred
• Professional phone skills
• Organization skills
• Excellent guest service skills
• Basics of food and beverage service/hospitality

Qualifications

• Lift and/or move up to approximately 50 pounds frequently
• Bending/stooping/kneeling required – frequently
• Climbing ladders – occasionally
• Routine standing for duration of shift (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to work varied hours and days including nights, weekends and holidays as needed
