About the role

We are seeking a Content & Operations Specialist to join a small, high-impact team focused on thought leadership, digital content strategy, and AI-driven content optimization. This individual will work closely with business leaders and stakeholders to create compelling content while helping ensure that content is discoverable, compliant, and optimized for modern AI-powered search and recommendation platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys storytelling, interviewing executives, creating written content, and exploring how AI models consume, prioritize, and surface information. Experience in startup environments, venture capital, incubators, or innovation-focused organizations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Interview executives, founders, and business leaders to develop compelling articles, blogs, thought leadership pieces, and success stories.
  • Translate complex business concepts into engaging, audience-friendly content.
  • Manage content development from concept through publication.
  • Maintain a consistent voice across various digital channels.
  • Understand how AI models, search engines, and digital platforms discover, interpret, and surface content.
  • Optimize content for visibility and discoverability across traditional search and AI-powered experiences.
  • Stay current on emerging AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other generative AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure content follows best practices for AI consumption, formatting, and accessibility.
  • Partner with Legal, Communications, Marketing, and other stakeholders to navigate content review and approval processes.
  • Coordinate with various business teams to ensure alignment between content strategy and organizational priorities.
  • Help establish and maintain efficient content governance practices.
  • Support and expand executive and corporate social media presence, particularly LinkedIn.
  • Develop content strategies that increase engagement and amplify thought leadership initiatives.
  • Monitor content performance and recommend improvements.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in content marketing, communications, journalism, digital marketing, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience conducting interviews and transforming conversations into engaging written content.
  • Strong understanding of content strategy and digital content distribution.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and other generative AI platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and approval processes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a small, fast-paced, highly collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within venture capital, startup incubators, innovation labs, or investment organizations.
  • Experience partnering directly with founders and startup leadership teams.
  • Knowledge of content discoverability, SEO, AI search, and emerging content optimization practices.
  • Experience using Workfront or similar project management platforms.
  • Background in corporate communications, investor communications, or thought leadership programs.
  • Understanding of how AI models consume, retrieve, and prioritize content.

Pay

$40–43/hr (W2 only)
