About the role
The Quality Assessments Division at Smithers is seeking a full-time Marketing Specialist to join the Information Security Services (ISS) department. This role supports business growth and sales objectives through various marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Identifies target customer segments and generates qualified leads.
- Develops and executes email marketing campaigns and social media strategies.
- Maintains website content and SEO strategies to enhance online visibility and engagement.
- Collaborates with sales and technical teams to create compelling marketing content and strengthen brand awareness.
- Coordinates customer events and trade show activities, including pre- and post-show marketing and on-site details.
- Supports PR efforts through content development, aggregation, and delivery.
- Utilizes external resources and internet research to build email marketing lists.
- Collaborates with global marketing teams to improve local marketing performance.
- Ensures all locally developed creative marketing materials are reviewed and adhere to strict brand guidelines.
- Creates dashboard-style reports to measure marketing effectiveness using key performance indicators (KPIs) and ROI metrics.
- Identifies target buyer personas and initiates contact through telephone sales, direct email, and social networking.
- Meets daily and weekly outbound telephone activity metrics to support lead generation and conversion-to-win goals.
- Timely follows up on websites, phone, and referral inquiries.
- Utilizes the sales process from initial client contact to the start of delivery of work.
- Consistently and accurately enters all lead/prospect contact information into the CRM database.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in marketing or business administration.
- 3-5 years of previous marketing and sales experience.
- Familiarity with the marketing communications process, including experience with agencies and in-house creative staff.
- Proficiency in marketing automation platforms like Sugar, HubSpot, or Marketo.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (Infor, Salesforce.com, Goldmine, etc.).
- Knowledge of web editing, SEO, and AEO techniques.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with web metrics systems (Google Analytics) and email marketing metrics.
- Experience with AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.) is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in marketing technical services is preferred but not mandatory.
