About the role
Bethel University, affiliated with the Missionary Church denomination, is seeking a Marketing Specialist to assist in creating and executing marketing strategies for the university. The position is full-time, exempt, and located in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance in creating and executing marketing strategies.
- Collaborates with other internal teams to develop and monitor strategic marketing initiatives.
- Tracks marketing campaigns across different departments within the university and with outside vendors, including creating reports to show progress.
- Researches the market, analyzes trends to help define the marketing strategy, and provides advice on how to best reach the target market.
- Writes, proofreads, and edits creative and technical content across different mediums.
- Serves as the main point of contact for all project requests, sets plans in motion for projects, and inputs all Marketing projects in online management tool (Hive).
- Coordinates bulk stationery orders, name tag orders, and manages invoices for those vendors.
- Serves as a project manager, working closely with the Graphic Designer to ensure all projects are completed in a realistic and timely manner.
- Serves as a liaison with the enrollment team to ensure all enrollment marketing pieces are completed in a timely manner.
- Creates social media content through writing, photography, and video.
- Serves on the Marketing's editorial team, providing strategic input on communication plans and assisting in the execution of those plans.
- Coordinates social media messaging for main university accounts, creating and posting content regularly, and assisting with the editorial plan.
- Manages invoices for bulk stationery orders, name tag orders, and other vendor-related tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the related field.
- Thorough understanding of marketing, specifically for higher education (and/or willingness to learn).
- Detail-oriented with good follow-through and ability to work autonomously.
- Global/futuristic thinker who can see the big picture and forecast future goals.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Team-player who enjoys working as part of a dynamic team, building on each other's skills.
- Ability to be creative, innovative, resourceful, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Strong working knowledge of printing, publishing, and graphic design.
- Proven command of the English language with strong editorial, grammatical, and writing skills/techniques.
Desired Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel).
- Familiarity with Adobe Suite (Illustrator and InDesign) preferred.
- Knowledge of best practices for posting on all social platforms.
