About the Role
The Council on Recovery is seeking a Marketing Specialist to support the organization's marketing, communications, public relations, and branding efforts, helping share our mission and engage the community across multiple platforms.
Ideal Candidate
- Strong writer and communicator with excellent attention to detail.
- Creative with experience developing digital and print content.
- Able to convey complex ideas in creative, easy-to-understand ways.
- Experience with WordPress, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Organized self-starter who can manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Comfortable with social media, public relations, marketing, and event support.
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Professional, flexible, and comfortable representing the agency in the community.
- Available for occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Essential Functions and Competency Criteria
- Creates engaging content for the agency website, social media, newsletters, email campaigns, and other communication platforms.
- Writes, edits, and coordinates marketing, communications, and public relations materials that are clear, accurate, and consistent with the agency's voice and brand.
- Supports the implementation of marketing and communications plans and campaigns across multiple channels.
- Maintains and updates the agency website, including regular content updates through WordPress.
- Manages day-to-day social media content, including planning, content creation, scheduling, posting, and monitoring engagement.
- Supports public relations efforts by drafting press releases and coordinating media requests and interviews.
- Coordinates marketing and communications for agency events, including promotional timelines, digital and print materials, website content, email communications, and social media.
- Develops and maintains positive working relationships with staff, community partners, vendors, and other external contacts.
- Tracks and reports communications and marketing data, including website traffic, email performance, social media engagement, campaign results, and other key metrics.
- Supports consistent use of the agency's brand standards across digital and printed materials and promotional collateral.
- Designs and produces marketing materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, and other communications tools.
- Manages multiple projects and deadlines while responding to changing department and agency priorities.
- Demonstrates strong organizational, writing, editing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Supports event planning, logistics, management, and execution as needed.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 2-4 years' experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
- Experience developing digital and print communications, including email marketing, social media, website content, flyers, and promotional items.
- Nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
