Marketing Specialist

Part-time, non-exempt position involving travel within Gloucester County. Majority of working hours are daytime, weekdays, with weekend hours approximately once per month. Flexible availability is required. Supervised by the Fundraising and Events Coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Manage agency social media platforms, generate posts, and develop eblasts.
• Create public information documents, articles, and press releases to inform the public about the agency’s programs, positions, and accomplishments.
• Assist with preparation and distribution of articles, photographs, documentaries, and releases to media representatives.
• Develop new marketing and advertising materials, newsletters, and special presentations.
• Generate acknowledgement communications.
• Assist with public contact programs to promote goodwill toward the agency with stakeholders, media, and vendors.
• Represent the agency at community projects and public, social, and business gatherings.
• Help develop year-end appeal and annual campaign.
• Participate on various committees as directed.
• Plan and execute successful fundraising and community awareness events of all sizes.
• Implement and maintain a social media strategy for community events (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
• Promote, book, and administer all events at the Sunshine Inn, including hosting as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Comply with the DDD Program Manual, The Arc Gloucester Policies and Procedures Manual, and applicable state, local, and federal regulations, including COVID-19 vaccination mandates and policies.
• Cooperate and participate in reviews, investigations, and inspections.
• Occasional management responsibilities, including assisting with trainings, planning, workflow, and problem-solving.
• Additional responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field (e.g., public relations or communications) required; experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities preferred.
• Current, non-probationary driver’s license with 5 points or less, valid in New Jersey, and deemed acceptable by The Arc Gloucester’s liability insurance company.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite and databases.
• Professional experience with website, e-blast, design programs, and social media.
• Proficient in basic computer, math, reading comprehension, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Successfully pass initial and ongoing Federal & State Criminal Background checks, fingerprinting, Central Registry, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), Child Abuse Record Information (CARI), health screenings, employment verifications, references, and drug testing.
• Must submit to criminal background checks and be determined not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to working with individuals served.
• Agree to have name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI).
• Submit to drug testing (random and for cause) and pre-employment drug testing if hired after 6/15/18.
• Certified in CPR/First Aid (preferred).
• Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all required training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, drive, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to operate computers, phones, and other relevant technology.
• Talk, hear, and communicate in person, over the phone, and using other technologies.
• Perform physical duties including carrying, driving, lifting (at least 20 lbs), bending, stooping, reaching, stretching, manual dexterity, maintaining stability (balance and coordination), twisting, squatting, cleaning, and climbing stairs.
