Marketing Specialist

About the role

Hilb Group is seeking a motivated and ambitious Marketing Specialist to join our in‑office team at our agency in Uniondale, NY. The role reports to the agency and supports a service‑driven culture of high performance, career development, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Place new business accounts and support internal creative marketing efforts.
• Submit to carriers for quotes, negotiate, propose, and bind coverage.
• Negotiate with companies for agency coverage standards, terms, and premiums.
• Address marketing service requirements as requested and review new business applications against proposals and binders.
• Handle placement through binding, including document processing, creating certificate masters, managing and confirming receipt of all binding documents and client payments.
• Follow up to ensure timely responses in conjunction with departmental binding procedures.
• Prepare proposal, binding, and financial documents for client presentation.
• Handle phone calls to and from companies regarding quotes and new markets open for affiliate companies.
• Utilize and rate all online rating programs for assigned accounts and lines where online rating is required.
• Develop relationships with company underwriters, understand market conditions, identify best placement opportunities, and place business to maximize regional income.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Independent and self‑motivated thinker able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Technical knowledge of the product area or industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.

Pay

Salary Range: $120,000 per year
