Position Summary
The Marketing Officer helps develop and lead the execution of integrated marketing strategies that reach, engage, and cultivate high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals, families, and professional advisors who make or influence philanthropic decisions. The role drives assigned donor growth initiatives while supporting key organization-wide marketing and communications priorities as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and contribute to donor growth marketing strategies that translate fundraising priorities into campaigns designed to increase awareness, qualified engagement, wealth advisor client referrals, and philanthropic revenue contribution
- Develop and execute marketing campaigns across digital and offline channels, including social media, email, events, and donor outreach, to engage donors and wealth advisors and advance overall foundation and Marcom team priorities
- Use audience research, segmentation, data, and sound judgment to help define KPIs and baselines, monitor campaign and channel performance, report outcomes, and translate findings into practical improvements
- Independently develop and coordinate donor- and advisor-facing content, digital and in-person event marketing, advertising, and high-touch outreach that clearly communicate SFF’s value, align with brand standards, and respond to relevant market and audience insights
- In partnership with our Gift Planning team, develop practical knowledge of HNW and UHNW individuals, family offices, wealth managers, financial advisors, tax advisors, estate planning attorneys, and other philanthropic advisors. Apply that knowledge to developing content and engagement strategies
- Document methods, share tools and lessons, and help colleagues strengthen their use of audience insights, marketing technology, data, and testing practices
Authority & Reporting
The role sits within the Marketing & Communications department. This role has no direct reports. Reports to: Senior Director, Marketing & Communications. The Officer independently manages assigned work and contributes informed recommendations within relevant strategies, priorities, and budgets.
Qualifications & Competencies
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently develop and lead marketing strategies from concept through execution.
- Proven strategic and analytical capability, including using data and insights to optimize marketing strategies, translate high-level organizational goals into actionable plans, and lead cross-functional initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and marketing skills, including excellent written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation abilities; strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills; and interest in philanthropy, racial equity, and the Bay Area
- Experience marketing to HNW or UHNW individuals, families, family offices, or the wealth advisors who serve them is strongly preferred
Technical Abilities and Skills
- Intermediate to advanced experience with digital marketing platforms for social media (i.e. Hootsuite and social media advertising), Google Ads and Google Analytics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly Pardot), WordPress
- Intermediate to advanced computer/software skills, including Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Teams) and Zoom.
- Familiarity and interest in A.I.
- Ability to learn, navigate, and manage online platforms, including Smartsheet and Salesforce
- Ability to create graphics and videos to enhance content

Position Pay Rate: $6,029.17 per pay period
Remote Work Policy
This position follows a long-term hybrid work model. Dedicated to its employee health and safety, The Foundation will continue to make decisions in accordance with San Francisco County and California mandates. Employees must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area and work in the office a minimum of one day per week.
Physical Requirements
This role is primarily sedentary and performed in a hybrid or remote office environment. It requires prolonged computer use, virtual communication, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 lbs.).
