The role drives brand reputation, market differentiation, and business growth through effective marketing initiatives, content, and campaigns tailored to the US energy market. It oversees the Annual Marketing Plan, maximises digital channels, manages regular content outputs, and ensures activities follow company objectives and brand guidelines. Collaboration with sales, trading, subject‑matter experts, and global marketing colleagues is essential to support business priorities, engage key customer groups, and meet departmental KPIs. The position also manages third‑party relationships and reports on content and campaign metrics, maintaining a consistent, innovative, and impactful brand presence across US markets.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Annual Marketing Plan and budget for the US business, ensuring support for Retail sales, Trading, and Origination teams’ goals.
  • Engage regularly with customer‑facing teams and subject‑matter experts to recommend new marketing ideas, initiatives, and support ad‑hoc requests.
  • Lead delivery of the annual customer Net Promoter Score (NPS) survey, focusing on broker channel feedback and gathering industry and competitor insights.
  • Lead go‑to‑market campaigns for new products and market entry, aligned with business strategy.
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of marketing content and thought‑leadership across digital, media, events, podcasts, and webinars, collaborating with internal experts.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint content libraries, creating corporate overview packs, pitch decks, and product literature for C‑Suite, Sales, HR, Trading, and Origination.
  • Manage PR and media opportunities, working with agency partners, customers, and stakeholders to establish talk‑tracks for spokespeople or SMEs.
  • Deliver press releases and opinion pieces to maximise press coverage, speaking engagements, case studies, interviews, and other content opportunities.
  • Manage communications for M&A, from planning, messaging, and content creation through stakeholder management to post‑merger integration plans.
  • Deliver the weekly e‑newsletter, creating content, working with email templates, managing distribution lists, and consulting with the Sales Enablement Manager for regulatory and market updates.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Team to maintain the US website and social media channels, delivering B2B digital content, growing followers and engagement, and running ad campaigns when relevant.
  • Manage all company events (in‑person and virtual), handling logistics, merchandising, booth design, messaging, positioning, and content to drive brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Leverage the partnership with The Energy Professionals Association (TEPA) to manage SmartestEnergy’s attendance at their events and conferences, building relationships, progressing content opportunities, and engaging broker contacts through speaking and content opportunities.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of corporate reports, including the global annual report and sustainability report, leading copywriting, reviews, feedback, and final approvals from local stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Global Senior Marketing Manager to develop brand messaging aligned with the wider Group, ensuring the narrative and value proposition resonate with the US market.
  • Activate global sustainability and DEI strategies and communications, following governance and compliance requirements to avoid greenwashing or green hushing.
