Function: The Marketing Generalist is part of the Marketing team and provides broad support across the Community Food Bank’s (CFB), marketing and communications activities. This position assists with content development, digital communication, social media, advertising, graphic design, website updates, multimedia, and other marketing initiatives. The Marketing Generalist collaborates with internal partners across the organization to help develop relevant and engaging communications for the communities that CFB serves. Duties And Responsibilities: Creates and supports marketing and communications content across digital, print, social media, web, email, multimedia, and other channels. Conducts interviews with clients, donors, volunteers, staff, community partners, and members of the public to identify and develop compelling stories that advance the Community Food Bank’s mission. Writes, edits, and proofreads content for internal and external communications, in alignment with organizational messaging and brand standards. Helps create and maintain engaging digital content across the organization’s website, social media platforms, email communications, and other web-based channels. Supports the development and execution of integrated marketing and communications campaigns using traditional and digital channels, including multilingual communications as needed. Coordinates advertising activities with media outlets and vendors, including newspapers, websites, television, radio, social media, and other digital platforms. Researches advertising opportunities, marketing channels, tools, and emerging trends and shares findings with Marketing leadership. Coordinates print production with designated vendors, including requesting quotes, submitting print-ready files, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery. Processes marketing vendor invoices, secures appropriate approvals, maintains expense records, and tracks translation-related expenses and budgets. Creates and adapts graphics and visual assets for print and digital communications using Adobe Creative Suite and established brand guidelines and templates. Supports video production, editing, motion graphics, photography, and other multimedia projects. Maintains and organizes the organization’s photo and digital asset library, ensuring current and relevant visual content is available for marketing and communications needs. Supports website content management, including creating, editing, and updating content within the organization’s CMS. Monitors and analyzes website, social media, advertising, and other marketing performance data and helps prepare reports using tools such as Google Analytics. Provides marketing and communications support for grant reporting requirements, working closely with the Grants team to ensure required social media, advertising, and traditional media activities are completed and documented. Stays current on marketing, communications, digital, social media, design, and industry trends and identifies opportunities to incorporate new tools, platforms, and approaches into the organization’s work. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities: Knowledge of integrated marketing principles and practices, including content marketing, social media, digital marketing, advertising, and media planning. Knowledge of digital communications and web-based environments, including content management systems, social media platforms, email marketing, and blogging platforms. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and experience creating graphics and other visual content for both print and digital applications. Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and storytelling skills, with the ability to write effectively for a variety of audiences and channels. Experience with website analytics and reporting tools, such as Google Analytics. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, vendors, and priorities simultaneously. Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and move projects forward with minimal direction. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, vendors, community partners, and individuals across diverse departments and areas of expertise. Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, platforms, tools, and marketing practices. Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to professional growth and incorporating new information into day-to-day work. Ability to communicate and work effectively with people from diverse economic, social, cultural, and political backgrounds Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years of experience in Marketing, Advertising or Communications. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms. For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver’s License with a safe driving record. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Physical Requirements: Light Work – ability to exert 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of utilizing experiential, content, and social media marketing campaigns and working with media plans.Knowledge of web-based environments (such as CMS, Twitter, Facebook, and blogging software) working in CMS platforms to maintain and create digital content.Skills in MS Office and adept with Adobe Creative Suite for both print and digital application. Skills in creating and preparing reports in Google Analytics.Ability to write according to the Associated Press Stylebook guidelines.Ability to work without a high-level of direction.Self-motivator and takes initiative.Life-long learner and ability to incorporate new information.Demonstrated interest in learning internally and externally and incorporating new information into role.Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.
